Giving myself Grace…

For years, I spoke life over everyone else… but not always over myself.

I found it easy to encourage others, remind them of God’s promises, and extend grace to their hurting hearts. Yet when it came to Beverly, I was often my own harshest critic.

God has been gently reminding me that I deserve the same grace I so freely give to others.

His Word tells us that “The tongue has the power of life and death.” (Proverbs 18:21)

That truth doesn’t just apply to how we speak to others; it also applies to how we speak to ourselves.

Today, I’m choosing to replace self-criticism with God’s truth, shame with His grace, and harsh words with life-giving ones.

If you’re reading this and you’ve been hard on yourself, I want to encourage you:

Speak to yourself the way the Heavenly Father speaks to you, with love, truth, hope, and grace.

Healing begins when we stop agreeing with the lies the enemy tells us and start believing what God says about us.

Today, I’m extending grace to Beverly. Will you extend that same grace to yourself?

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31:25 (NIV)
